Considering recent studies in the growth of Internet population around the world, IPv4 delivered ~ 20% penetration and has all but exhausted its addressing space. Just from this perspective, IPv6 is needed to fuel the next increase in global Internet expansion. So, address space matters after all… Lets say conservatively, that “almost limitless” addressing allows 50% of the world to be Internet connected in the next 10 years. That means connecting another 2 billion people…
